Mike has come a long way after suffering combat injury in Afghanistan (2009).
Mike’s vehicle was hit with RPG (rocket propelled grenade) and small arms fire, injuring him in the gunner’s turret. After being discharged from his injuries and multiple surgeries, Mike had to navigate the young failing VA system which was overloaded with the high amounts of veterans coming back home with injuries while serving in the Global War on Terrorism. He had to venture out to civilian specialist while fundraising and accepting the help of others while trying his best to heal.
He believes in a support system where veterans are not healing on their own, but instead with the support of a community of other veterans, companies, non profits, and investors that can give veterans a better chance at enjoying life.
Every veteran who served our great nation has experienced something different than the civilian population who never served in the armed forces. Those who served in combat zones, especially those who suffered physical injury due to combat, have a unique perspective.
